A blockage in the fallopian tubes prevents the fertilization of egg and sperm resulting in tubal factor infertility. Normal and healthy fallopian tubes plays a very vital role in pregnancy because fertilization of an egg by the sperm takes place in the tube & forming an embryo. The embryo grows in this healthy tube for a period of 3-4 days, and later it is pushed toward the uterine cavity by these tubes which results in the implantation of the embryo in the endometrial cavity. So, any abnormality in the tubes like blockage, adhesions, or distortion can lead to infertility. Tubal factor infertility can be treated successfully with the help of IVF.
