IMSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection)

Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection is a sperm selection method used in IVF with the help of a microscope, which allows selection of the best sperm using very high magnification of up to 7000x for microinjection into the egg.

IMSI has helped increase the pregnancy rate from 30% to 60%. This technique has improved success rates among men with severe sperm issues. Couples with a history of failed IVF-ICSI cycles have benefited from this procedure, as have couples with unexplained infertility.

Benefits of IMSI

  • It facilitates the selection of morphologically normal sperm, increasing the chances of conception.
  • Its use reduces the risk of miscarriage, ensuring better outcomes for the recipient.
  • It enables a customized approach addressing specific male factor infertility issues.
  • It helps identify potential genetic abnormalities in sperm.
