Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection is a sperm selection method used in IVF with the help of a microscope, which allows selection of the best sperm using very high magnification of up to 7000x for microinjection into the egg.
IMSI has helped increase the pregnancy rate from 30% to 60%. This technique has improved success rates among men with severe sperm issues. Couples with a history of failed IVF-ICSI cycles have benefited from this procedure, as have couples with unexplained infertility.
